fourfivecbd has taken the CBD and wellness market by storm and is one of the most popular brands on CBD Element. fourfivecbd was created with athletes in mind, by professional rugby players, George Kruis and Dominic Day. Read our blog to learn more about what sets fourfivecbd apart from the competition….
How did you both become business partners? Why did you decide to create a CBD brand?
We both played rugby together at Saracens and we have another business together so when I realised that there was a need for safer cbd products I approached George with the idea. It took a bit of convincing but here we are…
Why is CBD growing in popularity particularly among Rugby players and how does CBD benefit them?
As a professional sportsman, you are always looking for ways to improve. As CBD grew in popularity globally, it was impossible for professional athletes (not only in rugby but in all sports) to ignore. There is still a long way to go in terms of governing bodies viewing CBD for what it is good for and not where it comes from. This will come in time as more research and case studies are done around cbd products and its benefits.
How has CBD helped you both personally?
I first came across CBD when I was looking for ways to help speed up my recovery after knee surgery in 2018. Since then I have been using it every night before bed to help with the quality of my sleep since my first born was a couple years ago.
Recently, theres been a lot of focus on the mental well-being of athletes. What do you do to keep your mental health in check?
It's been great to see it become a key focus amongst sports organisations, being a professional athlete is both physically and mentally demanding. We spend so much time making sure our bodies are in the best shape possible so why should we not do the same for our mental state? Which is why it's been great to see.
Whats your CBD routine and do you take any other supplements?
Like I mentioned earlier, I take CBD every night before I go to bed to aid with my (lack of) sleep. In the morning, I take 1 Vitamin D and a Male Multi, which can be found at www.fourfive.com.
Which other athletes could benefit from supplementing with CBD?
I believe everyone would benefit from taking CBD, not only athletes. More research still needs to be conducted around the benefits of CBD but all the anecdotal evidence suggests that CBD offers a wide range of benefits.
How does running a business compare to being an elite sportsman? Are there any similarities?
Different in a lot of ways and similar in others. I guess the similarities would be the fact that you are challenging yourself all the time to be better and having to put in the work to get there, but it is a lot easier on the body.
What sets fourfivecbd apart in such a competitive market?
Having access to numerous athletes from various sports definitely helps with the exposure as we have over 400 athletes using and posting about our products regularly. I think the fact that we have targeted a market that we can relate to, which is sports and being active, has been key to our success.
fourfivecbd is designed for athletes by athletes, how can your products benefit the general public?
Athletes are not the only people who have niggles or are trying to recover from a big session and so on, so I think our products could benefit the general public in the same way it could benefit an athlete.
Which one of your products is the most popular?
That's a tough one as it varies month on month but I would say the top 3 would be our 1000mg oils, our muscle and joint gel.
How do you recommend using the CBD muscle rub and thermal joint Gel together to get the best results?
1) - Timings between using them??
I would suggest using the muscle rub when you are relaxing, whether that's after a gym session or if you are just sitting in front of the TV whereas the joint gel is more for pre-workout usage.
2) Is there one you should use straight after injury and one later?
No, not really. I would say it depends more on the injury.
Which fourfivecbd oil would you recommend for a total newbie?
We always recommend starting low and building from there so go for the 500mg oil.
